Maintenance and Long-Term Cost Savings

A properly maintained water softener requires relatively little ongoing attention. Salt levels in the brine tank should be checked monthly and replenished as needed. The resin tank should be cleaned periodically — typically annually — using a resin cleaner to remove iron and other contaminants that can impair performance.
